CLINICAL EFT TAPPING for stress relief: how it wORKS
EFT Tapping combines elements of exposure therapy, cognitive therapy, and somatic therapy (body-based). The process involves gently tapping on acupressure points on the scalp, face, and upper body. By tapping on these specific acupressure points, EFT sends a calming signal to the brain (targeting the amygdala, stress center), and helps to shut down the fight, flight, or freeze response. Once the body is more regulated and stress is reduced, you can feel and think more calmly and clearly.
The points studied in Clinical EFT Tapping research and that I use with my clients are highlighted by the dots in the photo below. They can be tapped symmetrically (both sides of the body at the same time), or just on one side.
